Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article.
Also, be sure to sign your posts on talk pages with four tildes (~~~~) – this will automatically produce a signature so other contributors can identify multiple posts from you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page! And again, thanks for your help! |

- *You can use {{subst:Talkinarticle|Article|subst=subst:}} to substitute the contained ParserFunctions.
Creation
editAlsandair created this template to be used as a friendly reminder for people who put material suitable for the talk page of an article in the article itself. It could be used either for good faith NPOV issues (though there would probably be a better suited template in that case) or for someone who simply puts editing advice in the body of an article.
Alsandair has no clue about anything however, so feel free to be angry at him for even thinking this was a good idea.
Do people like having the templat create the section header?
editPersonally, I would rather create it myself. That would let me change it to be specific to the problem. Will (Talk - contribs) 05:58, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- Per your concern, I am adjusting the template so that when you subst it, and add the name of the article as a parser function, the name of the article comes up in the header as well. Is this something like what you wanted?
- This is what it now looks like -
Actually, no section header at all would be preferred. I tend to use the + tab to start new sections. Other times, I end up putting the warning as the continuation of an existing related section. Will (Talk - contribs) 00:22, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, OK - I'd ask the original creator, I don't want to mess with it too much, I'm not that handy with templates. riana_dzasta 01:11, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
Technically, I have the template knowledge to make the section title an option, but I would not want to do it without some consensus. Will (Talk - contribs) 01:21, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Why not, it's a new template, and I haven't seen it in use very much - I doubt people will mind. I support your idea. riana_dzasta 01:25, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
I don't like the section header. Most warning templates don't have one, and it's confusing to the user. Xiner (talk, email) 02:31, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
I was under the impression that wikilinks in section headers was kinda frowned upon. — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 22:34, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
