See Liliod monocots – many plants used to be placed in the family Liliaceae, but are not now. Ornithogalum is a member of the subfamily Scilloideae of the family Asparagaceae in one treatment (APG), or of the family Hyacinthaceae in another. Either way, it's in an entirely different order, Asparagales, from Liliaceae, which is in Liliales. Peter coxhead (talk) 08:08, 3 May 2016 (UTC)

Hpy2bsal's comment is incorrect; the Jepson Herbarium recognizes Asparagaceae – see here. The difference is that we use the APG system, currently APG IV, in which Themidaceae is reduced to the subfamily Brodiaeoideae of Asparagaceae. See the taxobox at Dichelostemma, which Jepson puts in Themidaceae at the link given above. Jepson uses a narrower circumscription of Asparagaceae, I suspect equivalent to Asparagoideae, though I haven't checked. Peter coxhead (talk) 09:21, 16 March 2019 (UTC)

The family name is lily, found this out under the USDA site under Muscari botryoides where it is listed as an invasive species in Tennessee. I found it in Washington state.
