Guiseley for Leeds-Bradford?
editI'm disputing that Guiseley is the station serving LBIA. It's not the nearest (by road or as the crow flies) station to the airport (that would be Horsforth), and it's not the station that has the most bus services an hour to the airport (that's Bradford Interchange, 3 buses per hour), and it's not the station that has through rail-bus ticketing (that's Leeds). - It is the nearest rail station with a direct bus service to LBIA. Surely if Paiseley Gilmour Street (Glasgow) and Squires Gate (Blackpool) can be included in this category it would be fair to include Guiseley? 16:32, 5 August 2011 UTC — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.105.242.55 (talk)
- I see that you added it some hours ago. --Redrose64 (talk) 16:45, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
- I came here to dispute this also. Horsforth railway station is closer. Mtaylor848 (talk) 16:55, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
Regional grouping
editI think this template would be more useful for readers if the stations were grouped regionally, along the lines used in the List of airports in the United Kingdom and the British Crown Dependencies. The regiopns could be quite broad, e.g. group South East/East of England/London together. Just an alphabetical list seems a bit too dense. The heavy rail/metro distinction is of secondary important and could be denoted in another manner, e.g. with an asterisk or icon. Cnbrb (talk) 10:46, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- I propose:
- London (covers South East/East of England)
- North of England
- Midlands
- South West England
- Scotland
- Northern Ireland
- Wales
Perhaps there's also scope for listing the express services like Gatwick Express. Also, I think an asterisk/footnote is required to mark those stations that don't serve airports directly, but are a bus/taxi ride away (e.g. no.1 in the list, Dyce, which is on the wrong side of the runway! 11:50, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
