Template talk:United Kingdom political party shading

New template

edit

There is currently a pastel missing for Template:Radicals (UK)/meta/color, such as from the Secretary of State for the Colonies article. If in the future Secretary of State for Health is updated it will also make use of this. Is it worth creating a template this?

Otherwise these templates are a very effective way of ensuring consistency across lists of UK ministerial offices, so I'll make note to use them and incorporate into my AWB scripts. ToastButterToast (talk) 01:59, 7 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Use of the templates with the rowspan syntax seems to cause significant breaking problems on the Android Wikipedia app. (e.g. columns being placed out of order, columns not rendering to the specified length). I have found this to be the case when tested on my mobile and tablet devices. ToastButterToast (talk) 06:22, 7 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
Done, see {{Party shading/Radicals}}. The original hex color code has been tinted, but is darker than that for Labour. In regards to the breaking problems, you might want to check whether the template is being transcluded alongside |style=, since only one invocation of |style= will work in CSS.--Nevéselbert 06:46, 7 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
I don't know the specifics, I would have to look in detail later. For now I'll just post this image as demonstration. I don't know if there's any policy or if it's taboo to use imgur links but there we go. ToastButterToast (talk) 07:04, 7 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
N.B. Image is of the Chancellor of the Exchequer article on the tablet Android app. No problems with it on Chrome on the Android, so quite possibly more of a problem with the Wikipedia app. ToastButterToast (talk) 07:11, 7 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
