Please remove link from parameter 1
editSD0001, you made a bold edit to add an external link to |1=
. I reverted it after finding more than a dozen pages in which this link was causing an error. I gave an example of one in my edit summary, but there are many more. Putting a wikilink in |1=
is valid, and an external link breaks those wikilinks.
For some reason, you have restored this link, which causes external links to appear inside of wikilinks in user pages. I will not edit-war. Please revert your undiscussed revert or find a way to allow editors to provide their own wiklinks in |1=
. – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:59, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
- My edit was 1 year and 3 months old. I don't see how the WP:BRD cycle would start from that edit. The bold edit is the one which removes the fairly longstanding functionality which people have noticed and found useful.
The documentation of this template clearly says|1=
is for passing the number of GAs (and per page history this has always been the case), so putting a wikilink isn't valid. From your link, it looks like there are 6 instances where a wikilink has been passed (out of 985 transclusions totally). Let me know if there are more. It should be straightforward to fix these 6 uses instead. The supported way to do that is to pass the page name in|2=
, although this is undocumented. – SD0001 (talk) 18:57, 15 January 2024 (UTC)- Fixed the 6. – SD0001 (talk) 19:04, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks. The page I linked lists more. Some transclude other pages in the list.
