Background Colors
edit- I had used black because the website and the sports teams sometimes use black as a background color for the logo. The brown is more traditional though. We can go with consensus on this one. any opinions out there? Looks like only Brown and Gold are official? (see [and Figures] page)Andrew Powell 17:07, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Use of Logos
edit- I had added the Valparaiso University logos and then saw on another page why I shouldn't have added the pictures, referencing the Wikipedia:Fair_use_criteria. Giving us permission here would probably mean giving permission for everyone (i.e. releasing their private licence). That is unlikely as they make money from shirt sales, etc. I wonder if there is an unlicenced version of the logo, or one so old that it could be used? Andrew Powell 19:06, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
- I've reverted the template back, as you are correct, using trademarked logos has never been shown to be illegal, but nonetheless quite iffy on userboxes. Also, I thought brown (#663300) would be better than the black (you had brown for the text, but that's a non-standard HTML color and it was defaulting to maroon). Thanks for taking the initiative and boldly creating this userbox. Craig R. Nielsen 01:24, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
