editI used to feature this template on my talk page, but recently discovered it has been edited in ways that, in my view, are overly committal. Just because I am for a free and independent Ukraine does not automatically mean I am blind to harsh geopolitical realities, and just because I proudly feature the template does not mean I am ready to commit to only the most optimistic of peace resolutions.
To be very clear: history offers far too many examples where a nation deserves full autonomy and freedom, but is sold out by the great powers of the age simply because it is small. Obviously I would welcome an end to this war where Ukraine's sovereignty over Crimea and the Donbas is fully restored, where Putin and his cronies are put in jail for life, and where Ukraine gets a modern Marshall Plan (i.e. not going all Versailles on Russia's population). But I will not blind myself to the reality, where Ukraine likely will have to settle for less.
I will reapply the template to my talk iff there's an option to keep the original message (the version of March 2022). If you only want editors fully on board with a uncompromising stance, simply ignore this post. Thank you CapnZapp (talk) 09:51, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
