Tweak
editI'd like to try replacing :{{TALKSPACE}}:{{{2|{{BASEPAGENAME}}}}} with something like {{fullurl:{{ns:3}}:{{PAGENAMEE}}|action=edit§ion=new}} so that it creates a new section rather than simply linking to the talk page, but I'm not sure all the implications because I'm not super well-versed in the markup language. Seems a more direct link to literally "letting * know" to me. Just an idea! --Aepoutre (talk) 18:43, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not sure but i think that might not be desired because:
- The red-link functionality would be lost.
- People posting comments won't know if the subject they are commenting about is already been talked about on that talk-page.
In this case it is preferable that they append to the pre-existing section instead of opening a new section.
- Anyway i just fixed the template to work anywhere, so the restriction it had: “only top-page or 1 under)”, no-longer applies.

Adding options
editHaving this userbox with the white border surrounded by boxes with dark borders, I figured it could be useful to have an option to change the border colour. So for example, here's what it would look like with a black border:
{{User oops|border-c=black}}
This user tries to do the right thing. If they make a mistake, please let them know. |
{{User oops|I|border-c=black}}
I try to do the right thing. If I make a mistake, please let me know. |
After testing it with Template:User oops/sandbox, I've edited the main version of the userbox. I hope that's okay. It doesn't seem like it should change the appearance on userpages not using the new options. – Pretended leer {talk} 20:59, 23 October 2018 (UTC)
