Info change

edit

I've changed the "info" parameter in this template to make it more suited for what I think would be its only at-all significant usage: Users (such as myself) who were confirmed before the 4-day mark, and want a userbox declaring that as a matter of pride as much as anything else. I agree with the point raised in the (misplaced) TfD that the previous version of this template does not tell anyone anything that would help in improving the encyclopedia; I think that by a) acknowledging that "Confirmed rights" are nothing special and instead discussing the rarity of being manually confirmed and b) extending this to users who were confirmed but were then autoconfirmed (since you're removed from the former group once you're added to the latter), I've made it more accessible and more relevant. (I'm also going to be creating a topicon version of this template, and will soon add a link to that under "see also.")Francophonie&Androphilie (Je vous invite à me parler) 02:45, 17 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've also removed the portion that says "on the English Wikipedia": We use this phrasing for user rights because one can be, say, an administrator on one project but only a rollbacker on another. Since, as I said above, I think this template is more relevant as a statement of a past event than of a perpetual right, I've changed the info section to this end.Francophonie&Androphilie (Je vous invite à me parler) 02:51, 17 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
