Operation Rainfall

edit

I have deleted the reference to Operation Rainfall and will continue to monitor this template to ensure that it is not replaced. It is not a Nintendo series, it is a fan campaign. What were they trying to accomplish by dumping it in there? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.206.42.143 (talk) 01:32, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Why delete it?

edit

It makes navigation easier than reading the entire article

It's being added on pages that contain all the information of it, it's redundant. And because we have the Nintendo Hardware template and the Wi-Fi template. The templates you copied to make this one.70.101.201.248 02:03, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Prime example of people sticking this template in places it doesn't need to be.[1]See how everything in the template is on the page? You don't even have to scroll to see them. All this template is doing is double linking to already easily availble links and taking up space.

This matter is best saved for discussion on this page's entry on the templates for deletion page. –Prototime (talkcontribs) 03:09, 9 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wii Series Inclusion

edit

I feel that we should remove the wii series from this template and keep it in another template. This is because the purpose of the template is to deal with the hardware/ link to a list of games and not any specific games. Behun 08:59, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wii series is important for wii. (Wii series is part of Nintendo's campaign to target so-called "non-gamers") — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.11.200.160 (talkcontribs)

Wii Health

edit

Someone added 'Wii Health' to the template. I can't find anything about that online so I'll delete it for not until someone can create the page for it with a reference. --Thaddius 02:43, 15 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

I added Wii Health Pack. I was able to find three different sources confirming the game (two of which are from Nintendo's own sites). To view these sources, please visit the Wii Health Pack page. Zomic_13 05:23, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wii Chess

edit

I switched Wii Music and Wii Chess because Wii Music didn't come out yet, and the games are inorder of release. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.121.102.73 (talk) 01:14, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Minor channels?

edit

These are the channels currently available but not in the template:

  • Disc (minor - not much to discuss)
  • Photo (minor)
  • Forecast (minor)
  • News (minor)
  • Everybody's Nintendo (currently only in Japan; will probably get its own Wiki page later)
  • Wii Fit (currently only in Japan; should probably be integrated with Wii Fit main page)

They're all described in the Wii Menu page. Should they be included in the template? Wilbot (talk) 07:56, 26 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

The template is for distinct links, i.e. separate wikiarticles on the subject. It's not meant to list everything related to the subject, and shouldn't link the same article more than once. Just64helpin (talk) 11:50, 26 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'd also like to point out that linking redirects to Wii Menu sections does not aid in navigation; it merely confuses the reader into thinking there are separate articles on the subject, and it doesn't do anything more than what the TOC of the Wii Menu article already does. just64helpin (talk) 11:15, 6 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wii Series Order

edit

Someone re-ordered the games of the Wii Series in an order without ryme or reason. It was scattered at random and I re-ordered them in order of release. Please do not put them back the way it was before.AlexanderLD (talk) 00:24, 2 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wii Chess inclusion

edit

Could Wii Chess really be considered a true installment of the so-called Wii Series? Its presence seems contrary to what the other games are trying to demonstrate (ie the kind of gameplay possible using the Wii Remote), and its not even called Wii Chess in Japan. Misterkillboy (talk) 06:36, 4 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

This game was released six months before in Europe than in Japan, so its original name is Wii Chess, not the japanese name, and as a Nintendo published game it is part of the "Wii" series. --217.203.180.175 (talk) 01:52, 19 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Also, not all the games in the Wii series are demonstrating the gameplay possible with the Wii Remote: Wii Fit needs the Balance Board to be played, and the Wii Remote is used only very marginally. --217.203.180.175 (talk) 01:55, 19 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wii MotionPlus inclusion

edit

Since it's new hardwear enhancing gameplay majorly it should be included in the template with Hardwear. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Paul the dud (talkcontribs) 21:58, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Wii MotionPlus currently redirects to the Wii Remote article, making a link addition redundant. just64helpin (talk) 00:32, 17 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Order of Release

edit

I have already made a post about the order of games in the Wii series. As ALL other videogame articles are placed in order of release, not by series. We will continue to place the games in order of release, instead of the persoanl preferences of the series arranged by individual game. AlexanderLD (talk) 19:57, 25 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
