Template talk:WikiProject Belgium

In light of the discussions about whether the Belgian flag alone adequately represents Belgium (see here), I've taken the liberty of drawing up an alternative version, which also features the flags of the Communities and the Regions. Perhaps this alternative version can serve as a compromise between the template that only uses the Belgian flag and the suggestions to replace this template for certain categories of articles with separate templates for the Communities and the Regions. --Ganchelkas 13:51, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Alternative proposal:

  This page relates to the WikiProject Belgium, a project to create and improve Belgium-related Wikipedia articles. If you would like to participate, you can visit the project page, all interested editors are welcome!

Agree, I'm replacing the original version.--Steven Fruitsmaak (Reply) 21:52, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Small

edit

Due to sizing problems - having the four pictures in addition to the main picture just didn't work - so I set up a code to remove them should someone use the small param.--danielfolsom 06:56, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Proposed template change

edit

Instead of having the articles that use this template categorized as xxx Belgium-related articles, why not just keep it at xxx Belgium articles?. The categories may need to be moved as well, but it would bring the Belgium WikiProject more in line with the majority of other (country) wikiprojects (well I know Canada & China also go for the 'related' approach, but you don't see 'film-related' or 'biography-related' either) 195.177.83.221 (talk) 10:58, 17 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Flag -> arms

edit

Is there any reason why the flag was changed to the coat of arms? The flag is certainly more recognizable, and mirrors the use of every other national wikiproject I can think of. Oreo Priest talk 15:09, 3 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've reverted to the flag because of the reasons I've mentioned above and the lack of an explanation for the original change. Oreo Priest talk 16:04, 17 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

The Belgian cinema task force needs to be added as a supported parameter to the template. Currently, when this task force is used on a page, the template does not recognize it as a valid parameter, causing the page to be categorized under Category:Pages using WikiProject Belgium with unknown parameters. Thank you. --Earthh (talk) 10:48, 21 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Normally this would be added to the project banner of WikiProject Film, as it seems to have been set up as a task force of that project rather than the Belgium project. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 22:32, 24 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
@MSGJ: it is a joint task force between WikiProject Film and WikiProject Belgium, as you can see here. To clarify, WikiProject Film should not be added to biographical entries. Instead, these entries should use both WikiProject Biography and WikiProject Belgium. For reference, you can look at Template:WikiProject Canada, which includes parameter values for its cinema task force. Earthh (talk) 08:57, 25 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay so please make the required changes to Template:WikiProject Belgium/sandbox. For details of how to do this, see the documentation at Module:WikiProject banner. Regards — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:17, 25 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
  Done. Let me know if there are any issues. Earthh (talk) 10:15, 25 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
