How can I edit this template?

For some reason, this template adds the category Category:Mass media franchises introduced in 2023 when it was used on Category:2023 television series debuts. A television series is not a "franchise" especially if it only lasts one season and has no spinoffs. But there is no way to remove this parent category when an editor uses this template and I see no way to edit this template directly. Any help? Liz ^{Read! Talk!} 19:08, 4 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
