Terong is the name given to an island in the city of Batam,[1] province of the Riau Islands, in the Asian country of Indonesia.[2][3] It is famous for being one of the most densely populated islands of that nation and one of the 5 most densely populated in the world. About 3,000 people live in an area of approximately 0.04 square kilometers with a population density of 75,000 inhabitants.
