Production

edit

The Welder was shot on location in Homestead, Florida.[4] Filmed over the course of 9 days in the scorching summer of the Florida Everglades on less than a shoestring budget, Director/Co-Writer David Liz and Co-writer Manny Delgadillo brought life to The Welder overcoming incredible obstacles; Including having their gear stolen 2 days before the shoot, their main actor being arrested one day before the shoot, the production vehicle breaking down on the first day of production, and so many other monkey wrenches thrown into the machine. When you are filming 16 hour days, in 100% humidity, with a serious lack of funds you really have to want to make a movie, The Welder is testament to the true indie filmmaking spirit.
