Tomris, Tomiris or Tamiris is a Turkic female name used in Azerbaijan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. The name is a modern Turkic derivation of Tomyris (Eastern Iranian: تهمرییش Tahm-Rayiš),[1] an ancient Turkic Massagetae queen from Central Asia.
