Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani

Dato' Seri Diraja Tan Sri Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah (born 18 June 1951) is the Tunku Bendahara of Kedah. He is the son of Sultan Badlishah and a younger brother of Sultan Sallehuddin and younger half-brother of Sultan Abdul Halim.[1]

Early life and education

Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani was born on 18 June 1951 in Terengganu. He is the son of late Sultan Badlishah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah, the 27th Sultan of Kedah and his wife late Sultanah Asma binti Almarhum Sultan Sulaiman Badrul Alam Shah.[2]

He graduated with a diploma in Hotel Management from the Institut Teknologi MARA, Malaysia in 1971.[3]

His son was Tengku Jonaris Badlishah (c. November 1974c. 1999), a convicted murderer who was sentenced to death in Singapore in 1998.[4]

Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani is the Executive Chairman of THB Bina Maju Sdn Bhd Construction, Executive Chairman of THB Development Sdn Bhd (Construction and Development), Executive Chairman of THB Maintenance Sdn Bhd (Road Maintenance), Executive Chairman of Armada Energy Service Sdn Bhd (O&G)., Executive Chairman of Citaglobal Sdn Bhd (Construction) and Executive Chairman of Jerai Gemilang Sdn Bhd (Construction). He has over 30 years of experience in the business sector.

Tunku Bendahara of Kedah

Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani was proclaimed as the Tunku Bendahara of Kedah in 2017 following the demise of his elder half-brother Tunku Annuar.[5]
