The 2022 Ruselprom plant strike was a labour strike at a Ruselprom-Safonovo Electric Machines Plant, which produces three phase AC induction and synchronous electric motors, in Safonovo, Smolensk region. The strike action was caused by the salary delay.
Background
editThe electric machines plant was established as a production base of synchronous electric machines in 1960. In 1976, the plant began producing induction motors. Strong production and technical base allowed to create new types of electrical machines, among them are explosion proof generators designed for operations at gas pumping equipment for replacement of imported generators as well as induction motors[1].
The factory was privatized in 1992[2]. Safonovo Electric Machines Plant became a part of Ruselprom Group since 2003.[1] In 2019, the electric machines plant went bankrupt[3][4][5]. The current owner of plant is Vladimir Dorochin who is famous for transacting public sums of money into abusive tax shelters. In accordance with the words of workers, this capitalist treated him as a rabble. Even the bourgeois mass media admitted that the exploiters of working masses violated the labour laws as flagrantly as possible. In this inustrial enterprise, the safety techniques were also violated.
The company hadn't been paying its workers since November.[6] The salary delay was more than forty one million rubles[7][8]. The crane drivers of plant were also quite dissatisfied with their wages, for their wages were ten thousand rubles.
Strike
editOn 13 September, the workers walked off the job, numbering 741. The strike had begun[9][10]. Intitially, the bourgois mass media didn't acknowledge that the workers went on strike. On the 19th of January, the public prosecutor visited the strikers. The regional prosecution service instituted criminal proceedings on the article 145[3][11].
Reactions
editIn 2023, Dorochin also violated the labour laws[12].
