Saku Children's Science Dome for the Future (佐久市子ども未来館) is a science museum located in Saku, Nagano, Japan. The mission of the museum is "Bringing up of highly creative children through spreading and enlightening them of scientific knowledge".
Exhibits
editIt has a variety of exhibits on earth science, space, biotechnology, the environment and more. Some of the attractions that gain the attention of the children are a life-size model of a Brachiosaurus[1], a 170 seat planetarium with GSS-URANUS (Goto, Inc.)[2] and a display model of the "Mercury" spacecraft presented by NASA.
Architectures
editThe architecture and landscape of the museum were designed by Mitsuru Senda and Environment Design Institute.[3]
Hours and fees
editIt is open from 9:30 AM to 5 PM and closed on Thursday.
Admission is 500 yen for adults and 250 yen for children. Children under 4 are free. Planetarium shows cost 700 yen (for adults) or 350 yen (for children) in addition to admission fee. Discount set tickets are available for entry into both exhibits and planetarium.
