Partula nodosa is a species of partulid within the genus Partula. The species is sometimes referred to as the Tahitian nodular partula[1], and is endemic to Tahiti.
Distribution
editP. nodosa was found throughout Tahiti, but the wild populations quickly disappeared after the introduction of Euglandina.[2]
Captive breeding
editP. nodosa is in the international Partula breeding program and the conservation efforts for this species have been extremely successful, allowing reintroductions since 2015.[3]
Phylogeny
editPhylogenetic analyses found that P. nodosa is sister to a clade containing P. otaheitana crassa and an undescribed species.[4]
