Before 2009-10-16, I edited with just an IP address which began with "24....". You can see those previous edits here.
That was a shared IP address (a free WIFI connection in a waiting room near me) so it may be that a few edits before/during/after the above timeframe aren't me, but I'm the first to admit that I think most of them then were me (from mid-September to mid-October 2009). I was just killing time since I had to be there, but now I'm on a mission to serve and protect. I don't like that editors do hit-and-run deletions/reversions, discarding the work of others just to rack up their own edit counts. Why do they do that? Dunno; to accumulate greater (what? power? prestige? will to live?) numbers of edits for its own sake, I guess. Of course, if no one holds their feet to the fire, they'll cite their edit counts when they apply for greater adminship like small-town deputies who want more than their little can of pepper spray.
We don't need to put up with anonymous virtual thugs.
