Aveni is a financial technology company based in Edinburgh, Scotland, that develops artificial intelligence software for the financial services industry. Its products are used for compliance monitoring, risk management, and adviser productivity.[1][2]

History

Aveni was founded in 2018 as a spin-out from the University of Edinburgh’s School of Informatics.[3] The company initially focused on automating adviser quality assurance and customer interaction analysis in financial services.

In 2024, Aveni raised £11 million in a Series A funding round led by Par Equity, with participation from strategic investors. The company announced plans to expand its London operations and double headcount.[4]

Products and Technology

  • FinLLM – Aveni’s proprietary large language model designed for financial services. It was launched in 2025, with Lloyds Banking Group and Nationwide named as early adopters.[5][6]
  • Aveni Assist – A tool that automates note-taking and document generation for financial advisers.
