About Me

edit

Hello, I am a current college student in living in the United States of America. My current interests include the Fantasy books, Asian media pertaining to their music and their films/shows, examples such as K-pop, and C-drama. In my spare time I draw and write as a way to keep track of all the ideas, for the most part I've learned how to draw on my own. During my college career, I plan to partake in classes that level up both my writing and drawing skills. Paper is the most common surface to draw on.[1]

My Wikipedia Interest

edit

Because my interest mostly gears towards the East Asian media, my focus will generally be around the celebrities and culture around those topics, perhaps even write down notable events regarding my favorite Musician. Other topics I might focus on may include lore within books, shows, movies, etc.

Article Evaluation

edit

The Looney Tunes Show is one of my all time favorite TV shows. I’ve seen it since the release of the first episode, which was in 2011, to this day I would still consider the show to be worth watching, thus I visited The Looney Tunes Show article on Wikipedia and found three aspects worth commenting on: trivial information, the lack of citation, and appeared biases.

Trivial Information

edit

The page adds information that isn't necessary for the audience to know, especially in regards to the show’s character. One of the many examples of this is in the character’s Bugs Bunny’s description which includes, “Bugs spends his time watching sports on TV, hanging out with his friends and neighbors, and dating Lola Bunny.” This sentence, although plainly true, doesn’t showcase any value, it’s not significant to Bugs Bunny’s characteristic and adds fluff to the article.

Citations

edit

There’s a lack of citation within the character’s description. The sentences referring to a character’s action, feeling, and history, are referred to as a fact without any citation involved. One instance within the article is in Yosemite Sam's description, it includes wording like, “Sam tends to steal Bugs' possessions, causing Bugs and Daffy to resent him.” This sentence holds many errors, for one thing the usage of “tends” in the sentence indicates that Sam usually steals from Bugs, which is not the case in the show. Furthermore, the added details of Bugs and Daffy resenting Sam doesn't hold much truth, the most of the negative feelings shown against Sam is perhaps annoyance but never anything more.

Biases

edit

The page includes many biases, frequently showcased in a character’s description. The diction when describing a character can be extreme, painting a character to be different from what’s shown on screen, this creates a bias within the article. The most prime example of bias being implemented into a character’s description is in Daffy Duck’s. The description for Daffy has many negative undertones, depicting him to be a detestable character. Although there are some truths to those descriptions, the emphasis of criticism is unnecessary when the show doesn’t portray those traits to be any issue.

Conclusion

edit

The page has many complications of its own, although that is the case, I would rate this page as “fine”. The abundance of trivial details, lack of citation, and indicated biases suggests the page holds little credibility in terms of the content of the show, but if we disregard the nuances within the show, the elemental facts and details holds some credibility.
