Aalborg Commitments The Aalborg Commitments is a formal document agreed upon at the 4th European Conference on Sustainable Cities & Towns in 2004[1]. The document outlines a list of commitments that signatories could endorse and commit to themselves. The Commitments were reified 10 years after the Aalborg Charter was created at the very first European Conference on Sustainable Cities & Towns. The Commitments represent a more action-based approach than the preceding Charter from which it draws its inspiration, with the aim to accelerate effort towards sustainable development.
