Adimoolam Chandrasekar born in Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh, India. He was post-graduated in Physical Anthropology and Pre-historic Archaeology from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh, India in 1984. He served in Christian Medical College, Anthropological Survey of India & Planning Commission of India. He was specialised in Human Genomics and Population Genetics. He worked on consanguinity and its effects on Human Reproduction and Adolescent Growth among three endogemous groups of Andhra Pradesh, India and obtained Ph.D in Physical Anthropology in 1989 from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi. He worked on Genetic Structure of Indian populations, Nutritional Status of Indian populations. He worked on Human Genome extensively.
He has proved that Modern Human migrated into Indian subcontinent ~80,000 years before present. ~140 crore Indian constitute 4635 communities are the progeny of `65 mothers. He identified 10 new maternal lineages in India. Each community is the admixture of 2 to 11 genetic lineages. In Anthropological Research his woks are more cited by other researchers.
