Ponmadath moidheenkoya [1866 -1936] was a Indian National Congress leader,freedom fighter and philanthropist.He was prominent supporter of khilafat movement,Non-cooperation movement,salt sathyagraha and Home rule movement in kerala and also co-worker with great leaders like Mohammed Abdur Rahiman,E. Moidu Moulavi,K. P. Kesava Menon.

Early years

He was the 4th and last son of Pomadath mamadh and Elathoor Malliyakal Kunjibi.He married Ameenakutty who was the daughter of Karimadth Kunjaahmed and they had 9 daughters and 1 son.

He was a member of Indian Home Rule movement .He was nicknamed Home rule moidheenkoya because of his staunch support to Home rue movement.He also gave leadership to khilafat commitee along with E.Moidu Moulavi . Both of them gave significant leadership to congress-khilafat commitee which played a great role in bringing youth towards National movement.

Moidheenkoya was jailed in Central Prison, Kannur along with U.Gopala menon,Madhavan Nair for welcoming Yakub Hasan Sait who was freedom fighter from Madras presidency who came to Malabar for conference of Indian National Congress.As a result,section 144 was proclaimed by the britisher government.They was also accompanied by K. Kelappan.They were freed after 6 months in which they got distinguished welcoming from their hometown.

Soon after Malabar rebellion many orphans,women and suffering people were taken care and protected by him.As a result J.D.T Islam was started along with Maliyakal Kadirikoya haaji.Poor people were protected under them.
