Great idea
Re: The template for former Palestinian villages. I'm looking into how to refine the set-up, but must admit I've only created very basic template before, so this is a bit over my head. I'll do what I can though. Tiamut 14:27, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- So I made a couple of minor changes to the template you linked to and I added it to one article on Yibna. Let me know what you think needs improvement or changing before adding it others. Yibna is just a test for now. Thanks. Tiamut 12:38, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- I got the current locality field to work, but I've noticed that the "Also Spelled" field is not appearing even when filled out. More tinkering to do I guess. Tiamut 16:10, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, of course, go ahead with the infoboxes. Thanks to you for your hard work getting it set up too. Tiamut 02:54, 9 December 2007 (UTC)
Moved why?
Hi there. You moved Archbishop Theodosios (Hanna) of Sebastia to Theodosios (Hanna) of Sebastia. Naming guidelines for Orthodox clergy note that we include the religious designation in the article name (see here). Would you mind changing it back? I tired, but had some difficulty. Thanks. Tiamut 01:51, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for moving that back. About the high-importance designation ... I don't think we should restrict it by subject matter. Where there is an article in need of attention, expansion or balance, it can be rated high priority. These stubs have been around for some time now and need to be expanded and the articles not yet in existence need to be written. Otherwise, these are dry lists that don't adequately document the history of these villages and their relationship to significant historical events occurring at the time. You are welcome to rate them however you see fit, but to me, they are of high importance. Tiamut 23:07, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of District of Haifa, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.alnakba.org/villages/haifa.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 22:34, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
==Banned!!!!!==
Why have I been banned?! I do not vandalize pages, I edit with neutrality, I back 90% of my edits or new articles, I made a substantial amount of contribs to the Palestine-Israel related articles. If its because of the District of Haifa article, I already cited it. I didn't even use the alleged website I was accused of copying and users can tell that because for one its a list and two, the alleged website does not even include existent Arab or Jewish localities that were a part of the British district. I know this is a mistake, someone please fix it. --Al Ameer son (talk) 01:24, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Today's Featured Article
I see Yasser Arafat is on the front page – congrats! I know it's a mixed blessing. When Balzac was up front, I spent most of the day reverting vandalism. Hope it's not been too nasty for ya. Cheers! – Scartol • Tok 00:08, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- Apparently they've semi-protected the article, which is good. When I requested semi-protection, I was fed a line about how important it is to show off the freedom Wikipedia represents & etc. So I expect you'll have fewer headaches. Cheers. – Scartol • Tok 00:32, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your concern, I've just had a busy spell. Glad to see the fruit of your labours, and sorry that I wasn't able to substantially help. Cheers, TewfikTalk 18:47, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Mistake on user page?
You have Fatah al-Islam listed under articles you have created. The article history says it was created by George (talk · contribs). Am I missing something? Tiamut 03:36, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- I had a similar problem once with Reem Riyashi. I wrote an article about her without seeing the stub that was already there. Huldra (talk · contribs) told me about it after she redirected it to my entry. Crazy world of redirects. Happy Eid to you too! Tiamut 04:10, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
Arabic
No, don't worry about it. It's just that I've been busy in real life for the past months, so it's my bad. I'll see what I can do. :) —Anas talk? 06:00, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Arafat changes
I hope you don't mind, but I made some more changes. The excerpt you quoted does not say Arafat called the attack "an hour of destiny". It said he was forever speaking of an "hour of destiny" and that "did nothing to control his fighters." I'm not sure what the author means by that actually. So I removed that sentence altogether, because I think it's open to misinterpretation.
I also checked another source about the bus attack, Noam Chomsky, and referenced him for details on who was on the bus and when the attack happened. Happy Eid to you too, by the way. Tiamut 23:13, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- About the bus attack. There is this source which says they are Palestinian and Lebanese civilians from the Sabra camp (Chomsky says pretty much what I wrote in the edit there). This source, slightly less NPOV than the other two, says the the people were going to celebrate a terrorist attack on Kiryat Shemona. This source says they were supporters of the Arab Liberation Front. I think the best thing to do is describe where the bus left from and where it was going, as Chomsky did, without getting into further details about who was on board. We have sources contradicting one another here, ranging from civilians to PLO trainees right? I say we leave the details of who to another article (an extended discussion of this doesn't belong in the Arafat article anyway). Cool? And happy everything to you too. :) Tiamut 02:41, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Palestinian cuisine
The article Palestinian cuisine you nominated as a good article has failed , see Talk:Palestinian cuisine for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of said article. If you oppose this decision, you may ask for a reassessment. Sounds like a great a idea. I'm a bit removed from editing for the nextg few days due to the Christmas season (being Orthodox Christian we celebrate both now and in the new year). But I think it would be great to get that started up again soon. Tiamut 11:33, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- Al Ameer son, I changed the COTW. What did you change? --DieWeisseRose (talk) 05:25, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you mean by that. If you mean what have I changed in the Binational solution article, then my answer is nothing. Before, I did not participate in COTW, until recently, when I realized how great an idea it was. I saw that it was virtually dead so I decided to attempt to revive it.
Did you ever try to change the COTW template? If so, what did you change because you did not change the article displayed--I did that. I'm trying figure out if anything needs to be fixed.--DieWeisseRose (talk) 01:04, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Never mind, I checked your contributions and it looks like you didn't change anything. --DieWeisseRose (talk) 02:47, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Hamas
Being that Hamas's raison d'etre is "the destruction of the State of Israel and its replacement with a Palestinian Islamic state", it is highly appropriate for Wikipedia:WikiProject Israel. Further, it may be construed as somewhat lacking in neutrality for you to have removed the tag. Wouldn't you feel it inappropriate for a member of WikiProject Israel to remove the Wikipedia:WikiProject Palestine from Jerusalem? I know I would. Please treat other wikipedians with the same tolerance and courtesy with which you would like to be treated. Thank you. -- Avi (talk) 06:13, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- I believe it is somewhat disingenuous to refer to Hamas as "solely" a political party. Even so, I would hear the argument that it may be appropriate to add a WikiPaletine tag to any Israeli political party whose mission, formation, charter, stated goal, and current philosophy is the complete destruction of any Palestinian state. Further, my comparison to Jerusalem was not meant to be exact; of course there are differences. However, it does bring out the point more clearly. I am sorry if you misunderstood my intent. -- Avi (talk) 06:25, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Hey there
Hi sorry to be away for so long. I won't be able to add anything to the article until after the end of this month. I am preparing for a very important professional culinary competition, plus I am starting to teach the 22nd and I am the lead judge for a clulinary competition in Boston the 17-20th, while still working on my thesis. Good suggestion
I'll try to post it now. If I have trouble, please help me out. Thanks. Tiamut 15:06, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
I would do it for you
But I've injured one of my hands, and can only type with one hand right now. So. go to WP:TDYK, add the sentence you would like to include in the DYK page, under the date the article was created. Pay attention to comments there on how to improve the entry (if there are any). That's pretty much it. Good luck. Tiamuttalk 12:36, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Glad to try to help w/a DYK (I've never been involved with one before). I found some newspaper stories regarding the mosque. Sorry, they're rather negative. Anyway, they will add to showing the notability of the mosque and will help deepen the article. Thanks. HG | Talk 20:28, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Did You Know that it can't be a stub? I deleted the tag. Put in a Palestine template? did you check if over 2,000kb? Just checked and it looks like there are less than 1,700 characters. That falls pretty short. (Ok, 2000 if you count spaces. I didn't check kb) (Maybe change hook, use Dalai Lama and Hamas connections to draw attention?) Good luck! GA review of Bethlehem
Hi there:
I have completed the review of Bethlehem and placed the article on hold. Notes are on the talk page. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns or questions regarding the review. Also, when you're finished, leave me a note on my talk page. Lazulilasher (talk) 18:06, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

GA Pass of Bethlehem
Hello, today I took a second look at Bethlehem following your message on my talk page. I would like to say that the work looks excellent. As such, it now passes GA criteria. Congratulations for all of your hard work. Also, as mentioned at the GAN page, if you're interested GA has a backlog of article waiting to be reviewed by qualified users. Thus, I'd like to welcome you to review an article if you have the oppurtunity (and could I suggest my nom, pied-noir, hehe) :)Lazulilasher (talk) 19:46, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, any user can review for GA--I thought you would be good because of your interest in the Arab world. Although, copy-editing is important--I guess it depends on your confidence with it. There are always those willing to help, though. Let me know if you need anything and congrats again for Bethlehem. Lazulilasher (talk) 21:08, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Well I am interested in the Arab World (very much in fact) and the lack of reviewers is brutal, however, although I could spot obvious grammar problems or terrible prose, getting into details on it would be difficult... I never mentioned I'm 16 years old, taking English II Honors, and I think a review for a good article should be put in better hands :) --Al Ameer son (talk) 03:34, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
- Ahh...I see. Well, regardless, keep up the great work--I would never have known that if you hadn't said anything. All of your work has been great as far as I can tell. Lazulilasher (talk) 03:48, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
TOC for WikiProject
Great! I moved {{TOCright}} to the top section. See:
Is that OK? Can experiment further. I also tried a standard TOC at the top by adding
__TOC__
above everything. That works too. It seems that all the TOC codes now work. Great job with whatever you did to get the TOC codes to work! --Timeshifter (talk) 14:13, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

I've added the Hebrew, but not too sure about the Arabic. I'd guess it was أمّ باتين or أمّ بتين, but I don't really write in Arabic, so you might want to check that :) пﮟოьεԻ 57 16:02, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
I will try to dig something up but I have to warn you that I'm a bit overbooked right now. I don't know if you noticed, but the Palestinian people article has recently become a bit of a shambles and requires some cleaning up. Also, I'm deep into the expansion of Postage stamps and postal history of Palestine right now. So I'll try to get around to it soon, but I'm not promising anything. Thanks for understanding. Tiamuttalk 17:47, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi. The permissions attached to this image, specifically, "you use the material for non-commercial and non-political purposes only", are incompatible with the GFDL, which you tagged it as. Licensing an image under the GFDL means it may be used for commercial purposes as well as non-commercial ones. So, I've nominated the image for deletion here. Picaroon (t) 03:06, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, it's not a resolution issue. It's that you tagged the image as GFDL, which is a free license, but the website the image came from has terms which contradict the GFDL - so the image can't possibly be a GFDL image. Image:HamasLogo.jpg is different because it is tagged as a fair use, which means we acknowledge that it is copyrighted (non-free), but intend to use it for a limited purpose as per our Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria (otherwise known as the fair use policy; "fair use" = "non free"). See Wikipedia:Image use policy for more information. Picaroon (t) 05:46, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I don't wanna engage in an edit war, but Church of the Nativity is a world famous building in Bethlehem. It deserves to be mentioned in this section. I don't know where Muslims believe Jesus/Isa was born, but for the majority of Christians this is the place (Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox have churches in that building complex, and they form together a majority in Christianity, see List of Christian denominations by number of members). Cheers. adriatikus | 21:42, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, it's sacred in Islam too :) (Church of the Nativity, first paragraph) adriatikus | 23:11, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- I think the site of the event Bethlehem is known for worldwide deserves to be linked in Birthplace of Jesus section, and not only the event. Be it only for the readers who only hastily read the articles (I guess a majority). I'm saying the info should be offered to the reader in relevant places (even if it's redundant for the whole article). adriatikus | 00:42, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
