editHi. When you recently edited 153rd Infantry Regiment (United States), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 39th Infantry Division (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thank you
editThank you for the barnstar! I appreciate it. There's a couple of other issues that many of the articles had that still need to be addressed too but I was unsure how to fix them off the top of my head. Many of the articles have "extra space" at the top because of the way the infoboxes are used. This is a template issue and templates can be quite finicky so I didn't want to tackle this at the same time as other issues. The other is the public domain material tag and where it should go. I think the answer is that it should go at the very bottom of the article but I will have to consult the manual of styles to be certain. I'll let you know when I figure these out. I sometimes take a long time to get around to doing certain tasks but my memory is long. Cheers, Jason Quinn (talk) 05:14, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

16th to 31st Arkansas Regiments
editI don't have time to review all 16 articles that you listed. I did, however, add some comments at Talk:16th Arkansas Infantry Regiment. In my opinion it is almost B-class. The main issues are that (a) the lead section should be longer and (b) when persons or places have existing articles, they should be linked. My other comments are more like suggestions than hard-and-fast rules. Please note that I tend to be a harder reviewer, so do not be discouraged. Your article is well-written. The article 5th Arkansas Field Battery has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 69.155.128.40 (talk) 21:55, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

8th Arkansas Field Battery
editDamon.Cluck – I have added 1 more "Citation Needed" to the 8th Arkansas Field Battery article. I don't want that piece of information to be challenged and removed. Good work with the Arkansas Civil War articles. Adamdaley (talk) 00:18, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
American Civil War: Arkansas
editI was try to make all the Arkansas articles all appear the same. Hence the reformmating. When you want to print the book you can add the "hide print" and then take it out after getting it printed. Adamdaley (talk) 06:49, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
- I appreciate your efforts to standardize the articles and you have been truly helpful to me in the past by reviewing and providing meaningful feedback on improvements, but I really wish you would reconsider these changes. In July I went through and very painstakingly added "hide in print" to the info boxes and to all "External links" section of EVERY article which is included in the Book:Arkansas Confederate Infantry Units. I do not order large runs of the book myself, but I do promote the book by including the link to the book page in almost every posting that I do on the Arkansas in the Civil War, Indian Territory in the Civil War, Missouri in the Civil War and Field Artillery in the Civil War Message Boards. I also promote the book when I am asked to speak at various history roundtable events around the state. One complaint that I have received about the printed book is the excessive pages taken up by the info boxes and the useless External Links sections. The info boxes are a page wide, often with only a few words on each line. When I went through and did the “hide in prints”, it cut the book down by 70 pages which lowered the cost for a one time print by several dollars. I have not added the "hide in print" to the articles contained in Book:Arkansas Confederate Cavalry and Artillery Units because those articles are not nearly a far a long as the articles on the infantry units. My plan is to eventually work all of these articles up to at least B Class. I don't want to sound confrontational or ungrateful for your help! Aleutian06 (talk) 20:27, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- I have placed the "Hide in Print" into the articles I've taken out. Carefully look at what I've done to the one's I've put it back, as you can see the article text is at the height of the Infobox. When the book is generated you'll see that the article text starts at the top of the page. Adamdaley (talk) 23:19, 1 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the cooperation and the education. I do see the difference. I made the same change to 15th Arkansas Infantry Regiment (Northwest). I will use this formating in the future. Thanks! Aleutian06 (talk) 23:34, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

I have gone through the following with the new formatting, I have done certain things that may need your attention:
- 10th Arkansas Cavalry Regiment (Newton's)
- 10th Arkansas Cavalry Regiment (Witt's)
- 10th Arkansas Infantry Regiment
- 11th and 17th Consolidated Arkansas Infantry Regiment
- 11th Arkansas Infantry Regiment

- 14th Arkansas Infantry Regiment (Powers')
- 15th Arkansas Infantry Regiment (Johnson's)
- 15th Arkansas Infantry Regiment (Josey's)
- 15th Arkansas Infantry Regiment (Northwest)
I will continue to do the articles until they are standardised. Adamdaley (talk) 01:06, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
- I've just done 1st Arkansas Mounted Rifles. While going over it I have found a couple of mistakes... The following paragraph in the "Battles" section even though it's not a quotation the ending of this paragraph stops:
Adamdaley (talk) 15:23, 7 January 2013 (UTC)On November 4, 1862, Colonel McNair was commissioned brigadier-general. His brigade included the following Arkansas units, the 1st and 2nd Arkansas Mounted Rifles (dismounted), 4th and 13th Arkansas Infantry Regiments, 4th Arkansas Infantry Battalion, and Humphreys' battery of artillery.[8] On the same day,
- I found and corrected it. It is really a bit from the 4th Arkansas Infantry Regiment. The two units were brigaded together for most of the war so their history is very simular. Thanks for the work you are doing! Aleutian06 (talk) 22:12, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
- With the 22nd Arkansas Infantry Regiment article I have found the following mistake. It doesn't finish the paragraph with who commanded"

Redesignated as the 35th Arkansas Infantry Regiment On November 15, 1862, General Hindman moved the Arkansas infantry to Massard Prairie, 3 miles (4.8 km) southeast of Fort Smith to drill and organize the divisions. The 35th Arkansas was assigned to Brigadier General James F. Fagan's 1st Brigade of Brigadier General Frances A. Shoup's 2nd Division, of Major General Thomas Carmichael Hindman's 1st Corps of Lieutenant General Theophilus Holmes's Army of the Trans-Mississippi. The unit was brigaded with the 34th Arkansas Infantry Regiment commanded by Colonel William H. Brooks, the 29th Arkansas Infantry Regiment, commanded by Colonel Joseph C. Pleasants, the 39th Arkansas Infantry Regiment, commanded by Colonel Alexander T. Hawthorne and Chew's Arkansas Infantry Battalion, commanded by
Hope this helps. Adamdaley (talk) 04:59, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
I found and added the commander's name. I think that paragraph needs an additional reference. I will find one and add it. The Arkansas Civil War Message Board was hacked during christmas, so a lot of the sources are not avaiable. The operators have it back up in a very basic form now but a lot of the links there are curently dead. Aleutian06 (talk) 13:59, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
