Article Evaluation: The Bluest Eye
This article is very reminiscent of other articles on novels or short stories, first discussing the plot of the book followed by characters and some information about the author. There is nothing I found that distracted me from learning about the book. The article has a section labeled "Controversy", this section remains neutral on the controversies themselves as they surround the book. The citations are numerous at the bottom of the page and most of the links work and provide information to back up the writer's claims. All quotes within the article are properly cited to reliable sources. In the TALK people seem to agree the plot summary is oversimplified and can be expanded, as well as more information on the author given. This article was part of WikiProject Novels and WikiProject Woman Writers. The article is evaluated to be a good source for information regarding The Bluest Eye, though it is noted that the article could be expanded upon. The article does not much differ from what we talked about in class as both in class and the article themes of the book were/are discussed including the prevalent theme of white beauty standards.
