Elaine F. Walker received her B.A. in Psychology from Washington University in 1974 and her Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Missouri in 1979. Walker has taught and conducted research at Emory University since 1986. She holds the position of Professor of Psychology and serves as director of the development and mental health research program while teaches courses in abnormal psychology, personality and psychopathology. Prior to working at Emory, she was an Associate Professor of Psychology at Cornell University.[1]
Dr. Walker's research focuses on childhood precursors and neurodevelopment aspects of Schizophrenia and other serious mental disorders. She has taken part in writing over 100 books and articles. Walker is a recipient of many awards including James McKeen Cattell Award, the W. T. Grant Foundation Faculty Scholar Award, and the Gralnick Award for research on Schizophrenia.[2] Walker was the former director of the clinical program at at Emory University and is currently the president of research in psychopathology.
