Hello! You may call me Alfredo or Soap General. I enjoy editing topics relating to soap operas as I'm a huge soap fan, I've been watching soaps for over thirty years. I currently watch The Bold and the Beautiful and Days of our Lives. Previously, I watched Guiding Light and As the World Turns, two of my all-time favorites, among others. I am very sensitive about my work and worry it isn't good enough so please don't attack me as I most probably didn't mean to do anything negative. If you leave me a message on my talk page I will write back as soon as possible.
I currently make periodical visits to Wikipedia as I'm busy elsewhere in the world.
My history with soaps:
My first ever soap was Guiding Light, which I started watching in 1977 when I was very young. Then I began watching The Young and the Restless in the 1980s, followed by The Bold and the Beautiful after its debut in 1987. Around 1989, I got hooked on As the World Turns and All My Children, and they became two of my favorites. In 1993, I stopped watching Y&R permanently after several years of disappointment, and my love for B&B, Guiding Light and As the World Turns had long since surpassed it. Around 1995, I began watching Days of our Lives and soon after General Hospital, which I stopped watching after a year due to time constraints. In 1997, I became a die hard fan of NBC's Sunset Beach, which was cancelled after only two years and I was very disappointed at the time. Despite my obsession and need to watch all these soaps throughout the years, the only ones that truly mattered to me were Guiding Light, B&B and As the World Turns. I stopped watching All My Children in 2005, the reason again being years of disappointment. In 2009, following Guiding Light's cancellation, I became extremely upset and initially considered boycotting CBS to show my disapproval, but my love for B&B and ATWT didn't keep me away long. The following year, when ATWT was cancelled, I was met with the shocking truth of the decline of the soap opera industry. As of 2012, I continue to watch and love B&B and Days of our Lives. I briefly got back into GH but stopped soon after. Since then, I have also taken an interest to the British soap Coronation Street, mostly out of boredom.
Soaps I'm against:
The worst soap opera of all time, in my opinion, is One Life to Live. Seriously and honestly, i believe it is the worst television program in the history of the universe. Other soaps I didn't like were Another World, which I followed however because my family enjoyed it, and Santa Barbara. In 2011, when ABC announced the cancellations of All My Children and One Life to Live, I started a website to express my happiness for their cancellations. However, eventually I took it down after I received several comments saying the site was disgraceful and mean. But in the grand scheme of things, ABC was right to cancel them. And since then, ABC's one and only remaining soap, General Hospital, is now a huge mess.
