Alexander (born October, 2007), also known as AlkeralexExists, or Alkeralex, is a Mexican-American amateur astronomer, nerd, and video-game developer and modder known for absolutely nothing. He is the eldest of 3 sons, and is currently attending secondary school; he intends to apply for a major in astronomy at... somewhere, hopefully ETH Zurich, Leiden University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, UNAM, University of Chicago, University of Chile, University of Copenhagen, University of Toronto, or UW-Madison, among other places. Or not. He could be lying. He has been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder.

He has a mix of interests; he primarily obsesses over astronomy, astrophysics, and physics and calculus as a whole, often building and operating amateur reflector telescopes to observe bright, deep-space objects like Messier 31. He also takes interest in city planning, mass public transit, and airport planning. Similarly, he has a deep interest in world building, opting to use real-world sciences and research in linguistics, history, ecosystems, and other fields to develop a fictional world capable of being held to close scrutiny; his current project is Planet Wolex for the Van Man Saga.

Switching out of the professional, neutral tone and into the normal, casual yapping tone that results in people muting me in TF2 because I yap too much for some, I'm Alexander (colloquially nicknamed Alex) and I exist. I recently made my Wikipedia account because I wanted to fix issues in Wikipedia pages like typos or formatting as I come across them, as well as more major edits to improve articles as a whole; I also write some new articles as I find certain topics that don't have dedicated articles and could be expanded (primarily dwarf or satellite galaxies, or any other astronomical objects).

I also wanted to see what the fictional Wikipedia page for Planet Wolex, Planet Juno, and my fictional persona would look like if they were actual Wikipedia articles, and have thus put them here. Don't make fun of me yet for it; you can do that after reading it.^{[Confused editor?]}

Astronomy and astrophysics

Across my many hobbies, astronomy and astrophysics are probably the ones I obsess over the most, including physics and the immense amount of calculus that it consists of; though given you read the intro paragraphs, I'd assume you're well aware of that. I've spent a lot of my free time wandering Wikipedia and reading random research papers on topics in astronomy, particularly revolving around galaxies and their gravitational interactions and tidal forces, amongst other things including but not limited to HI regions, dark matter, exoplanets like Kepler-186f (my favorite, and the primary inspiration for Wolex), stars and their spectral classifications, general and special relativity, time dilation, and basically everything else with astronomy that I don't feel like spending hours typing out.

Because of this interest, I'm intending to study a major and then PhD in astronomy, hopefully at either UChicago, MIT, or ETH Zürich when I apply in autumn of 2026, though I'm also considering Leiden University, UNAM, University of Chile, University of Copenhagen, University of Toronto, and UW-Madison, among others. Regardless of where I go, I intend to use my PhD to, get this, become an astronomer.

Urban planning

I love urban planning and public transit networks. It's something that I've obsessed over for quite a while, probably from my thousands of hours in Google Earth on the school chromebooks since I first found it in 2nd grade. I like looking at the ways that cities are planned out, and observing how they developed around original, expanded, neglected, and new pieces of infrastructure, and focus on how all of those elements, despite being very independent and a mess of logistics, barely work together to make a city that manages to function, all without the knowledge of half of its own residents.

As a result of this minor obsession, I also really like architecture and street design, with the many design elements that goes into buildings, how they fit into — or don't fit into — their surrounding neighborhoods, effective urbanization, and the removal of car dependency in cities, particularly North American cities through improved bike infrastructure and expanded public transit networks, including high-speed rail. I like trains. I really like trains.
