Mark Boyd (Surfer)

Mark Boyd (born 25 December 1986) is a Scottish surfer from Thurso, Scotland. Boyd is Scotland’s most capped international, a competitor on the UK Pro Surf Tour and has been Scottish National Surfing Champion since 2018. Boyd’s other achievements include 4x consecutive national Longboard titles, winner of various events as a junior, 1st place in the Mens Open Division at the Gathering of the Clans (Scottish-Interclubs) as well as making the final of the UK Pro Surf Tour Thurso Surf Festival in 2016. Boyd also helped the Scottish team to a 16th overall placing at the World Surfing Championships in Peru in 2014.

Boyd regularly features in UK and European surfing media and got the cover of Carve Magazine in 2018 with a shot by Jordan Godley.

Mark has appeared in commercials for Glenmorangie whisky, Porsche as well as content for his sponsors; Alder Sportswear, Dragon Europe, Lost Surfboards Europe and Passenger Clothing.


Personal Life:

Boyd was raised near Sandend Beach where he learned to surf. In 2008 he graduated from The University of Aberdeen and has resided in Thurso ever since.
