Shriyut Sriniwas Tiwari also known as the White Tiger ('Safed Sher'), 'Lion Of Vindhya Pradesh',Dada Ji is the former Madhya Pradesh Speaker and Minister and one of the most known and powerful leader of Vindhya Pradesh Region in MP. He belongs to Tiwni village near his former constituency Mangawan in Rewa district.Presently he stays at Amahiya locality in Rewa city of M.P.
Early Career
editApart from being a Freedom Fighter Shriyut Sriniwas tiwari was a renowned lawyer of his time and is recognized for his deep understanding of law.
Politics
editA freedom fighter turned politician he has been MLA and Minister in MP govt right from the very beginning in 1956 since MP state was formed. At that time he was one of the youngest member of legislative assembly in the state. A well known political figure at the state and the national level, he gave the Rewa region a distinct identity.
He is one of the most respected Brahmin leaders in the region which has particularly high number of Brahmins with Rewa being the parliamentary constituency with the highest number of Brahmin voters in India.He is known to be a strong rival of Union HRD Minsiter Arjun Singh and known to be his tormenter who has neutralize Arjun Singh's or Thakur domination in the region specially in Rewa with support of Arjun Singh's relative and Disciple Digvijay Singh Former MP CM.
Following
editHe draws extreme effect and reaction in Rewa White Tiger Of Vindhya Pradesh . He also spearheads the movement for a separate Vindhya Pradesh state, but the movement is yet to gather momentum. Every year his birthday is celebrated in Rewa as Parva with great fanfare with tens of thousands of people taking part in the celebrations.
Family
editHis Son Sunder Lal Tiwari was former Member of Parlialment from Rewa during 1999-2004 term and in 2009 generel election he lost by mere 4000 votes to BSP Candidate Devraj S Patel. His grandson Vivek Tiwari 'Babla' is emerging leader and currently District council Member.
Present Life
editIn his early eighties, he doesn't show much signs of slowing down. Even after getting defeated in 2008 elections ,expectations are high and people can't wait for him to be at the place he so highly deserves.
Last Elections 2008
editHe has got congress seat from sirmour assembly seat in rewa in Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election 2008 but unfortunately he lost it by only 400 votes attributed to policitcs of all his opponents uniting in favour of single opponent.
