Mbrascatu is an Italian/American Indie rock band currently based in Portland, Oregon. The band was started in 2010 by Andrea Algieri.Mbrascatu has played a variety of venues in Oregon[1] and periodically plays shows in the neighboring states of Washington, California, Nevada, Idaho and Italy. Drawing from diverse European and American roots, the five-member group features Andrea Algieri on guitars and vocals; John Sabestinas on electric guitar, banjo; Tim Anderson on bass; Griff Bear on violin; and Lalo Esparza on drums. Pronounced mm-brah-ska-too, the band’s name is taken from the nickname of Algieri's grandfather, a native of Luzzi, Italy. Blending emotion-filled Italian lyrics with an energetic rhythm that will get your body moving, the band’s signature sound is music that pay tribute to personal encounters and human qualities.
