Andrew Haas (born March 24, 1975 in Indianapolis, Indiana) is an American professional basketball player, who is currently playing for the Florida Flight in 2011.
Andrew attended Cornerstone Christian Academy for 3 years before transferring to Westfield Washington High School in 1990 during his freshmen year. Andrew played multiple sports while in High School. Was an All-State 2nd team soccer player where he lettered every year. He picked up the game of Basketball during his freshmen year, but due to growth spurts didnt really full develop until after High School. He did play his Junior and Senior years there where he played Center because of his height. He also played Baseball as well.
From 2000 to 2002, Haas had an opportunity that presented itself in the world of professional basketball. Living at the time in Indiana he had the chance to play for a team called the Indiana Legends of the ABA. Attempted to tryout the first year but didn't make it. So detertermind to play just started networking with the team and eventually the next year proved himself worthy of making the team being the final round of cuts. He never really got the opportunity to play, mainly was a practice team player. But he stayed determined and in shape had several other tryouts but those didn't pan out.
In 2003 moved to Florida with his wife to pursue other opportunities. Continued to network and workout and play lots of basketball really paid off. Now he is getting another shot in 2011 with the Florida Flight.
