Article Evaluation:
editArticle on "Tania Bruguera" -I found everything in this article to be relevant. However, the sentence regarding controversies was way too brief and distracted me. There needs to be more elaboration on the controversy stated. -The article was completely neutral, and anything that resembled any sort of bias was presented as a quote from someone else (cited), not from the author(s) themselves. -I found the article as a whole to under represent the life of Tania Bruguera. I looked more into her for my writing assignment, and while the page does a good job listing some basics, it fails to even mention some of her most noteworthy accomplishments. As mentioned before, they should have gone into more detail about the controversies. -Most of the citation links work and support the claims in the article. However, #15 didn't load a page when I clicked on it. -Each fact (almost every sentence of the article) is followed by a reference for the information. The references checked out to be reliable sources of information. -The article doesn't discuss anything past 2013 (including her exhibits at the YBCA). -The only thing in the "talk" page was a comment from a 192AC student posted today. -The page is part of a few wikiprojects, and is rated as either "Start-Class" or unrated in each wikiproject. -We haven't talked much specifically about Tania in class; however, the article doesn't give any analysis or personal opinions/thoughts like we do in class.

editThere is much we can add to the MAGA article, specifically pertaining to the recent 2016 presidential campaign. Ideas for additions include: social media presence, demographics, organizations, and key actors.
Relating to our topic of Make America Great Again, I believe we could add a lot of information about that slogan into the Wikipedia page for Donald Trump. As of now, it simply lists that MAGA was his campaign slogan, but we could add a lot of our key points about MAGA to add strength to that section of the article.
Finalize Topic and Choose Sources:
Either under the "2016 Trump presidential campaign" or in a new section titled "Social Media Usage by Trump" or something of that nature, I plan to add information regarding how the hashtag and campaign slogan was used by Trump (and followers) during and throughout his campaign/presidency. I plan to include relevant instances of tweets, etc. by Trump specifically relating to #makeamericagreatagain during his 2016 presidential campaign, as well as analysis of those instances. Additionally, I might add other social media postings on other platforms by other prominent figures with the hashtag as well. I also plan to add information regarding Trump defending his untraditional use of social media and might cite some instances of opposition to his campaign seen in social media.

editSocial Media Usage
Donald Trump took the campaign slogan to social media (primarily Twitter), using the hashtag #makeamericagreatagain and its abbreviation #maga. Many found Trump's frequent use of social media to be unprofessional; however, Trump defended himself by tweeting "My use of social media is not Presidential - it’s MODERN DAY PRESIDENTIAL. Make America Great Again!" on July 1st, 2017 (Graham). In the first half of 2017 alone, Trump has repeated his slogan on Twitter 33 times (Whitehouse). In an article for Bloomberg, Whitehouse noted "A regression analysis suggests the phrase adds (very roughly) 51,000 to a post's retweet-and-favorite count, which is a big deal given that the average Trump tweet attracts a total of 107,000" (Whitehouse). Trump attributed social media to his victory when he said "I won the 2016 election with interviews, speeches, and social media" (Rosen). According to RiteTag, the estimated hourly statistics for #maga on Twitter alone include: 1046 unique tweets, 6,300,000 hashtag exposure, and 3600 retweets with 12% of #maga tweets including images, 59% including links, and 52% including mentions (RiteTag). Note: these figures would be even greater if all derivatives of the slogan across all social media platforms were taken into account. Trump's Twitter handle is @realDonaldTrump, and his account had 40.5M followers as of October 2017.
