This user account is a bot that uses Pywikibot, operated by Andy M. Wang (talk). It is used to make repetitive automated or semi-automated edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually, in accordance with the bot policy. This bot does not yet have the approval of the community, or approval has been withdrawn or expired, and therefore shouldn't be making edits that appear to be unassisted except in the operator's or its own user and user talk space. The bot still in testing phase, likely semi-active, and may see extended periods of inactivity. Administrators: if this bot is making edits that appear to be unassisted to pages not in the operator's or its own userspace, please block it. |

Hi!
AndymwBot was created on May 4, 2016. Its runs on Pywikibot.
Current status
Depending on its operator's time and progress with code, AndymwBot may be active sporadically, but mostly idle, operating at its operator's bot sandbox for proof-of-concept testing.
Ideas and activities
Initial ideas for AndymwBot include template maintenance, adding/removing protection templates, and template editor grant review.
- Template maintenance: tagging templates' documentation pages with {{Documentation subpage}}, {{High-risk}}, and {{High use}}, submitting protection requests to RFPP when transclusion counts warrant them, and potentially splitting off documentation/category content to documentation subpages.
- TPEGRANT review: counting distinct template sandboxes edited and counting successful template-protected edit requests.
- Adding {{reflist-talk}} to talk sections that use
<ref
. - TE bot: move editnotices on redirects to their targets.
- AndymwBot may help out with the general backlog (category), and get inspiration from Wikipedia:Bot requests.
