editIn 2020, Russia is celebrating one of the most important holidays — Victory Day in the great Patriotic War. Unfortunately, the Coronavirus pandemic the celebration had to be postponed but then it took place. This article tells how the most important holiday in the history of our country was celebrated in the Hero cities.
The parade in St. Petersburg was held with the participation of 4.5 thousand military personnel and 100 pieces of equipment. The audience was able to see historical and modern military equipment and the air part of the parade was provided by the crews of aircraft and helicopters of the combat aviation of the Western military district.
In Moscow, the situation was slightly different. Instead of the traditional parade in Red Square, only the aviation part took place. The President of Russia made an address and laid flowers at the Eternal flame. However, with the current situation many events, including the "Immortal regiment" campaign were held online.
In Volgograd, the parade still took place. Fifteen hundred soldiers marched in front of the audience,as well as columns of military equipment. The mechanized column was led by the legendary T-34 and cars from the great Patriotic War.
The festival in Sevastopol was held with the participation of modern aircraft, warships, as well as melodies of the 1930s. About 4 thousand plants were also planted in the new city square. They form a unique space and do not block the views.
Kerch hosted the first stage of the swim in memory of the "black sea victory relay" - "Swim to Victory", dedicated this year to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war. In the green zone of Station square there was "Soldier's kitchen" where residents and guests of the city could taste military food of war time.
To the strains of "Sacred War" which was the legendary song that raised Soviet soldiers into battle, the national flag and the Banner of the great Victory, a symbol of courage and perseverance of the people of the USSR, were brought to the main square of the hero city. This year, the parade in Novorossiysk was held almost without the audience. Only the veterans of the great Patriotic war were present in the stands. The military of the Novorossiysk garrison, the best of the best sailors, pilots, paratroopers, gunners, border guards, had also been preparing for this day.
In Tula, the main festive venues were Lenin square and Kazan embankment. Kazanskaya embankment hosted a festive concert "Spring of Victory!
