Greetings, fellow Wikipedians! I am Apapococ, but you can simply call me 'Andi'. My journey with Wikipedia began in July 2002, and since then, I have been an active contributor to this vast ocean of knowledge. My passion for open-source software and projects was ignited at the dawn of this millennium, and it has been a burning flame ever since. I have been deeply involved with TYPO3 and have managed large TYPO3 sites such as UNESCO Bangkok and East West Center (Hawaii). However, as time passed, my focus shifted from TYPO3 to content creation and knowledge bases, and I became a regular speaker at international conferences with an educational background, such as the Montessori Asia Conference in 2017 and the UNESCO Workshop in 2004.
As a state-certified German Secondary School teacher with an AMI-approved Montessori Diploma, I have spent years in classrooms, served as a school director, and even as the CEO of a BOI Board of Investment-approved Web Application Development company. I have also held the position of CIO of the Asian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and have been regularly contacted by GLG (Gerson Lehman Group) to assist top 500 companies in finding and meeting their peers.
My interests are not limited to the professional sphere. I am an avid songwriter, composer, and I enjoy flying airplanes and sailing sailboats. I also devote my time to teaching underprivileged kids how to juggle and skateboard, providing them with the necessary tools and equipment for free. I am an advocate of Upschool, a leading eLearning platform that promotes teaching outside the traditional classroom setting, and I am committed to the 5 SCDG (UNESCO) principles, preparing students for the new era of the Ecozoicum.
I am proficient in multiple languages, including German, English, French, Spanish, and have a basic understanding of Russian, Thai, and Chinese. This linguistic diversity allows me to contribute content in various languages, making knowledge more accessible to a wider audience.
I firmly believe in the power of Wikipedia as 'The Biggest Schoolbook of the World', and I am committed to creating high-quality content that is freely available to everyone. My goal is to help students, educators, and businesses collaborate, contribute, and understand each other better across multiple languages. I am also a contributor to OpenStreetMap and many other open-source projects, and I strive to make these platforms more reliable, interesting, and inspiring for everyone.
I look forward to continuing my journey with Wikipedia and hope that my contributions will inspire others to share their knowledge, especially with younger and older generations. Here's to making Wikipedia - The Biggest School Book of the World - even better!
Happy Wikipediing,
Andi - Apapococ (talk) 08:56, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
