In late January 2010, several administrators deleted over 400 unsourced biographies of living people in violation of the community's rules. They initially deleted over 400 articles. The Arbitration Committee urged the community to discuss options for sourcing the 50,000 that were tagged as unreferenced so that chaotic deletion could be avoided. Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Biographies of living people was opened to let the community decide how to proceed. Discussion there should help decide the fate of 50,000 articles. Your comments are welcome. Below are the articles which were deleted. Your help referencing these articles is very much appreciated. Written by User:Okip

That he's a sportwriter is easily established (which is basically what the article asserts). I don't know if he meets notability guidelines but there was no reason for the article to be deleted out of process and it's obvious that no effort was made to source the content if there was any concern. 3. Christopher Maher      (Google cache) [153] Enough to confirm the article was accurate. Doesn't seem to be notable to me, but there was no BLP issue. Just another improper deletion by an admin disrespecting community consensus on how these subjects are handled. ChildofMidnight (talk) 03:37, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

  13. Vaughan Lowe      (Google cache) [154] Lots of sources. Quite notable. ANother article that should be restored since it was deleted out of process without any check of the individual's notability or any effort to look for sources if there were questions. He seems quite notable to me. Noted here [180] and here [181]. GOP convention chair is a pretty notable position and he seems to have been involved in lobbying and campaign activities as well. His work is also noted [182], [183], and [184]. Sometimes goes by William Harris apparently. ChildofMidnight (talk) 07:53, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
