She became was interviewed for the role of Head mistress at Droylsden High School for Girls by the Joint Committee (Governors) on 26 April 1955 aged 38 and appointed from 1 September 1955.[2]
She...
She took early retirement in 1976 due to ill health.[3] During retirement she travelled regularly abroad. A smoker for much of her adult life, she died of Bronchopneumonia and Carcinoma of bronchus on 16 October 1985 in Birch Hill Hospital, Wardle.[4]
