Jesus Valenzuela (18?? - 1858), was a Sonoran fourty-niner, known to the State of California as one of the Five Joaquins under his gang nickname, Joaquin Ocomorenia.^[1] According to the Valenzuela family sources interveiwed by Frank F. Latta, Ocomorenia was a garbled form of Jesus' real nickname, Ocho Morena, that he aquired in childhood in Pueblo de Murrieta, Sonora.^[2]^{: 133–134}
