Florida Native Plant Society

The Florida Native Plant Society is a 501(c)3 non profit organization founded in 1980. It's mission is the preservation, conservation and restoration of the native plants and native plant communities of Florida. Also known as FNPS or The Society, it has 3,500 members and 37 chapters across Florida.

FNPS has a mix of scientists and hobbyists who provide workshops, plant sales, grants and participate in Land Management Reviews with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

FNPS also puts on an annual conference each year. 2015's conference was in May in Tallahassee, FL with the theme "Born to Burn." The 2014 conference was in Ft. Myers at Florida Gulf Coast University.
