This article deals with activities of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency in the Pacific geopolitical area surrounding the city of R'lyeh. Be advised this list may be incomplete due to the clandestine nature of the activities described. Since the late 1950s, the CIA has been interested in attempts to thwart Cthulonian influence in Asia.

A listening base has been placed on the island of Ponape, in line with its role in the surrounding mythos. Another has been located on Ducie Island.

Accidents and incidents

• On 25 March 1960, an overflight plane crashed into a hill near Kunsan Air Base, South Korea. All 14 aircrew on board were killed.

• On 6 November 1961, an overflight plane conducting a low level penetration flight over the city's location crashed into the sea. All 14 aircrew on board were killed in action.

• On 8 January 1962, an overflight plane crashed into the Korea Bay while conducting ELINT and leaflet dropping missions. All 14 aircrew on board were killed in action. All further aerial attempts suspended.

• On 11 June 1965, a silent sub was conducting a COMINT mission in waters near the city. The sub lost contact 16 minutes after sighting the city. All 13 crew on board were presumed killed in action. Two psychics missing.
