General characteristics |
Hermania was the name of a Dutch schooner that was discovered adrift off the Cornish coast in 1849, sans masts and crew.[1]
The ships Captain, his wife, child and crew were missing. The lifeboat was still in place.
Later career
editThe ship was captured by the Fylla off the Oder Banks, while attempting to run the blockade on May 1, 1864. She was eventually released and let proceed to Koblenz.[2]
In fiction
editThe ship is mentioned in Castle Falkenstein (role-playing game). The reason given for the disappearance were mermaids.[3]
