Mukatsuki byo (Japanese: むかつき びょ, lit. rage sickness) is a Japanese cultural phenomenon in which a Japanese person will suddenly fly into a rage and kill a person, usually a fellow perceived to be acting in an un-Japanese fashion.[1] One of the known triggers is hearing a Japanese person speak English.[2] The sickness has been known since the 16th century (Sengoku period), when the first foreigners arrived in Japan.
