Author, columnist, novelist, editor and poet Shahid Islam is a former military officer & diplomat from Bangladesh. Following the completion of post- graduate studies in international law, public policy, and political science from the University of Southern California and the Concordia and the McGill universities of Canada, respectively, Mr. Islam devoted to the practice of international and immigration laws since the late 1990s in the USA & Canada, while simultaneously writing 14 books and over 6,000 articles.
Shahid Islam’s journalistic sojourn has been vast and globally-spawned. In the last three decades, he has served, having taken time off from the law profession, as a senior editor of the Daily Star (Dhaka), managing editor of the Weekly Holiday (Dhaka), executive editor of the Asian Herald (UK), chief editor of the Eastern Review magazine (UK), and the founding editor of the Global Review journal (Canada).

A passionate researcher of conflict analysis and peace research, as well as a devoted human rights activist, Mr. Islam is a University of Windsor certified Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) specialist, and the Canadian Migration Institute (CMI) certified corporate governance expert.
He lives in Toronto, Canada, along with his wife and three daughters, while his times are also shared between the USA, Canada and Bangladesh.
