Bag O' Chips
editBag O' Chips is an American hard core heavy metal band. In the spring of 1996, two members of the Washington DC based jam band, F8 branched off to explore more creative opportunities. New Bag O' Chips members Ben and Seanny B collaborated and wrote their debut album Impending Doom in the summer of 1996. Well, more specifically, on a Monday in June of 1996. It took them 4 hours.

The Early Years
editThe Bag O' Chips quickly gained a loyal following after playing in the DC Metropolitan area. Soon after, in the fall of 1996, yeah yeah yeah records signed the Bag O' Chips to a tentative 2 album deal. The record deal was reportedly worth a case of beer. In return for the beer, yeah yeah yeah records would retain the rights to the Bag O' Chips songs. In 2001, a wealth of jam tapes surfaced. Some say it was a publicity stunt launched by Seanny B's harem. Others say the jam tapes are not of actual Bag O' Chips sessions, rather they are Bag O' Chips tribute bands.
In late fall of 1996, the Bag O' Chips went on tour to support their debut effort, entitling the tour Impending Road Rash. Being that Ben and Seanny B were the only two members, the group enlisted Smitty and The Beav on drums and bass, respectively to support them live. The tour was moderately successful as the Bag O' Chips enjoyed the comforts of their fans hospitality on the road between Silver Crest and Marlboro Drive. Then yeah yeah yeah records president, Blaine Michaels considered extending the Bag O' Chips deal to 3 albums and a wine cooler. This essay will explore the missing 3rd album later.
The F8
editAfter a long month on the road supporting the Impending Road Rash tour, the Bag O' Chips took a hiatus to rejoin their F8 band members in the fall of 1996, already in studio.
With thier F8 duties finished in the winter of 1997, Ben and Seanny B reunited to collaborate for the Bag O' Chips sophomore effort Vascular Membrane. For their second album, yeah yeah yeah records put the Bag O' Chips up in the illustrious DucTape Studios where Ben and Seanny B would write and record the entire album. Vascular Membrane was started and finished on Saturday, May 12th, 1997, however, yeah yeah yeah records delayed the release of Vascular Membrane due to the controversial Wash the Spears song. Extreme right-wingest groups local to the DC metropolitan area expressed great offense and disappointment about Wash the Spears to Blaine Michaels who put the hammer down on the release of Vascular Membrane. Bag O' Chips management was non existent, so they could not come to the aid of Ben and Seanny B. So, Ben and Seanny B had to take things into their own hands. In late July, 1997 yeah yeah yeah records released the shortly anticipated Bag O' Chips effort Vascular Membrane to the masses. The second album was well received and sold better than the Bag O' Chips debut album, which in turn, sold more copies of Impending Doom.
Vascular Pavement
editIn the summer of 1997, Bag O' Chips hit the road once more in support of their second album. The tour, entitled Vascular Pavement would call on the aid of Bag O' Chips devotees Smitty and The Beav once again. The Bag O' Chips enjoyed moderate success on the road in 1997. Added to the Silver Crest Hall and Marlboro Drive Garage venues was the Wayne's Room and Milt's Place. The Bag O' Chips packed each room every night, mostly with chords and beer cans, some trash, guitar strings and amplifiers.
Disagreements, Heartaches and In-House Disturbances
editAfter the tour, Ben and Seanny B took another break, but this time they would not reunite for the 3rd album. Breaking their contract with yeah yeah yeah records, they were ordered to return a case of beer and 5 wine coolers. Seanny B was quoted in 1999 saying, "I had to leave the Bag O' Chips because of pressing family issues. Ben and I did have creative differences, but I'll go on the record as saying he's gay". Ben could not be reached for comment.
Rumors have surfaced recently that Ben opted for higher education over the band. Other sources have said he was buried underneath the gas station at which he worked.
Business Casual
editIn 2006, Seanny B decided to collaborate with Smitty and The Beav for a Bag O' Chips EP. The public continues to await the release. Yeah yeah yeah records would not release the EP saying that they owned the rights to it. In 2007, the Bag O' Chips lawyers said that Ben and Seanny B had paid back there beverages ergo the new untitled EP (in 2008 rumors surfaced saying that "Buisness Casual" is the working title of the 3rd album) would remain the property of the Bag O' Chips. Current band members Seanny B, Smitty and The Beav have continued to personally finance the released of said untitled EP. Needless to say, the 3 surviving Bag O' Chips members, due to overwhelming child support, alimony payments, dead end jobs, and drug and alcohol problems currently cannot afford to finance the release of the 3rd album alone. Bag O' Chips devotees continue to wait for the prodigal EP. Only time will tell if Business Casual will come to fruition.
