Learning Mathematics through Representations is an educational curriculum unit consisting of 25 lessons aimed at facilitating the teaching and learning of integers and fractions at the elementary level. This curriculum is characterized by its inclusion of non-routine problems and the integration of the number line and Cuisenaire Rods as key representations and teaching tools. Additionally, digital resources to complement the curriculum have been developed by the Kentucky Center for Mathematics." Empirical studies on the effects of the curriculum on teaching and learning have appeared in a number of educational research journals.[1] [2]
