Manoj Kumar Goswami (Assamese: মনোজ কুমাৰ গোস্বামী); born 1962, Nagaon, Assam, India) is a noted author and broadcast journalist based in Assam, a state in northeastern India. Currently, Manoj Kumar Goswami is the Chief Editor of the Assamese daily Amar Asom and also Editor-in-Chief of satellite television channel NKTV 24x7 [1]. He was also the editor-in-chief of satellite channel DY365.
Biography
editGoswami was born in 1962 to Kamal Ch Goswami and Lakhimi Goswami in Nagaon, Assam. Goswami graduated from Nowgong College and later did his postgraduate studies in physics at Gauhati University. Goswami taught physics for three years. In 1986, he left his job and became a journalist.
Literary Career
editGoswami's debut appearance in the Assamese literary world as a short fiction writer in the 1980s made thousands of native readers enthusiastic for his powerful portrayal of the individual psyche and conflicting social reality of the Brahmaputra valley. His stories often compel the readers to take a fresh look at the issues where a naive consensus often lulls their critical gaze.
Goswami has six collections of short stories, a novel, and a travelogue, apart from numerous essays. A science student by training, Manoj Kumar Goswami chose journalism as his profession and is now a leading name in electronic and print media of the region.

Journalistic career
editEmbarking on his journalistic journey, Goswami began at the Assamese daily newspapers such as Ajir Batori, Amar Asom and Janasadharan. He also contributed as a columnist in Asomiya Pratidin and worked as the editor-in-chief of DY365, a satellite television.
Currently Manoj Kumar Goswami is the Chief Editor of the Assamese daily Amor Asom and Editor-in-Chief of the satellite news channel NKTV [7]. Goswami made headlines by declining the prestigious Sahitya Sanman literary award by Assam Sahitya Sabha. Goswami also did a media course with the Russian Television Network (RT) in Moscow. Goswami's documentary "Anshu-Everest calling" [8][9] [10] was screened in various film festival.
